Problems begin, however, when I try commanding the lock through the Home app. When I'm able to get this far, the lock state seems to be successfully communicated to the Home app (sends notifications when locking, unlocking, etc). I've had sporadic success getting the lock to pair by instead adding it through the Home app and then viewing its HomeKit settings in the August app. I don't believe I've even once gotten 'enable HomeKit' to work through the August app. Without fail, attempting to enable HomeKit via the August app gives a 'Failed to Pair' message.

Since the lock apparently only works on HomeKit over Bluetooth (sounds like this is an Apple-enforced thing), I've placed my hub, a HomePod Mini, right next to the lock when trying to pair per August's instructions.
